Original drawings with one teaching job at a time
The diagrams were drawn for this guide. They use simplified fixed shapes, consistent orientation labels and guide marks that point to the relationship being discussed. They are not scans, photographs, simulations of treatment or depictions of a real person's care.
Different views are deliberately kept together with their explanations. Reading one image in isolation would leave out the context the lesson supplies. The same explanations are available in the text version and in print.
Where the terminology comes from
Selected relationship definitions draw on the American Association of Orthodontists' glossary and bite guide, checked on October 22, 2026. The fictional models and worked readings are original teaching examples.
The guide stays with visible tooth relationships. It does not assess your mouth, explain a personal cause, diagnose a jaw condition or choose treatment. Individual questions belong in a discussion with a clinician.
